With increased accessibility to technology globally, user bases are becoming more diverse and nuanced. As a result, businesses must understand the importance of crafting experiences that resonates with all. A design re-enforces stereotypical thoughts in the user’s mind. Think differently about gender roles and avoid using male/female-oriented linguistics. Have a cohesive and holistic approach to achieve a consistent image of proper redefinition.

Designers must create products that are accessible to all. It not only makes the experience better for people with disabilities but can also benefit everyone. Consider things like whether there is enough contrast between the text and background, how large are texts, are button clickable, etc.

Designers must take into account the needs and want of the users as they are a diverse set. Emphasize with the user and gather feedback to see you are not biased and get a better understanding of expectations.

A design solution may not appeal to all people equally. UX designers must implement diverse solutions targeting the needs of different personas. This means, offering multiple paths on a user journey or flexible adaptation of a service or product to a situation or an individual’s taste.

Diversity, though challenging can be an excellent opportunity for businesses to design a better digital experience. Keeping an open mind when it comes to design decisions can help. Understand that diversity is a strength of your product and prioritize security, privacy, accessibility, and good user experience. Develop digital services and products iteratively and test them with as many (diverse)people to gain a better understanding.
