For every heart that finds a love,
There is a heart that cries.
For every dream that is reborn,
There is a dream that dies.
For every ray of shining sun,
There is a drop of rain.
For every hour of joy that’s felt,
There is an hour of pain.
For every game that’s ever won,
There is a game that’s lost.
For every dollar ever earned,
There is a countless cost.
For every spoken word of truth,
There is an uttered lie.
For every new beginning made,
There is a sad good-bye!

Bittersweet Pt 2 (aka repercussions)

For every life brought in the world
There is one taken out
For every optimistic man
There is a man in doubt
For every shout of praise cried out
There is a bitter song
For every right decision made
There is a choice that’s wrong
For every pet kept in the home
There are two in the wild
For everyone who eats too much
There is a starving child
For every man who lives in wealth
There is a man who’s poor
For every effort made for peace
There is more talk of war.

For every soothing medicine,
There is another plague.
For every thought that seems so clear
There is an idea vague
For every honest man of truth
There is a man that lies
For every politician liked
There is one we despise.
For every marriage based on love
There is one lacking trust
For everyone who lives and sins
There is a fate of dust.
