Time pass by, technology keeps developing and human invents many new products that use technology as a tool.

What do you see from the picture above?

It shows different picture of how technology developed in transportation sector and make impact on us. In the past, people used horses as transportation. They ridded and uses horse in daily life. Later, men invented car, tram, and bus. These transportations came to replace the horse. People who ride a horse as their job was killed. Many jobs have disappeared because of new technology product. And there are also many new jobs that appear such as drivers. With the same place at different time, many things have changed and developed by technology.

Other than transportation sector that have developed so far, electronic device sector as well has developed by smart inventor such as smart phone, computer, and television. This device continually developed without the limitation. In the past, we just call it a phone. We can use it for calling and texting messages. Later, it has developed and has more function in one device. Now, we can use it to take picture, calculator, open a map, reminder, and many other function that useful. This phemomena is similar to the transportation sector that it kill the previous product and some job. People tend to follow new trend that give more convenient to them.

Every new device that launch out in every single year has provided different and new function in order to satisfy the user’s need. The most significant that user are waiting to see is combination. As all the users want more convenient in their daily life. They want something that portable, easy to move, and connect to everything. One that is offering them now is smartphone. Wherever you go you can see people holding it and use it all the time.

Actually it is normal for people to be on their smartphone most of the time. Because the smartphone offers everything that they want. It combines all the medium and all the information that they are searching for. Moreover, it provides entertainment such as music and game application. That is what people choose to take that to everywhere they go. This development gives many benefit to user. For example, user can search for information and media that they interest. It is easy for them to access and do not have any cost to pay. However, it also brings a risk to someone who misuse it. Because every information on the social network has no privacy. Anyone on online can hack your information and disgrace your fame.

Likewise, it is not only benefit for user, it also benefits to market that need advertisement channel. The main target customer of all the markets are in online. They use this smartphone device as a tool to reach the target customer. It is easy for market to promote and advertise their product. And the special thing is that it is free.

As we can see that the technology slowly is advancing and have some changed. People as a user is also change their behavior on media consuming. Before people consume one media at a time. They pay attention on one device because they do not have much choice to choose. Later, technology products has launched with the new function like I have mentioned above such as smartphone that offer entertainment, education, lifestyle, and news in one device and television which has more applications which able to connect to internet and search for online video. Users have more choices to choose what to consume on media. Sometime they cannot make a decision and want to watch and work more than one activity. So, they choose to watch at 2 or more media at the same time. This can be called multitasking. I often see my friends playing game on smartphone and watching YouTube on television. Sometimes they watch movie from laptop and work on smartphone. Now, it is time for you to look back at yourself whether you have changed your behavior on media consuming or not.
