How to Get Your Eight Glasses of Water a Day in

Keeping track of your daily water intake can be a struggle when you're not thirsty throughout the day

Drinking water can become a chore because it is not fun but it has to get done for your body’s benefit. It’s like making the bed. It’s not fun, but it has to get done so that you have a nice place to rest at night.

It’s hard to fill your body with water when you are busy going through the day and getting thirsty doesn’t remind you to drink it. So when I was struggling to make the quota for the day I decided to figure out a way to get them in.

First I use Google Tasks and I added my eight tasks one glass of water in there and programmed timings of when to drink them. There is a strategy to programming them and the best way I found that worked for me was:

6:30 am drink a bottle of 500mL — as soon as I get up, I drink a whole entire bottle of water. This way I already get two glasses in for the day. Then I head to the gym. Of course, during and after a workout you need to rehydrate so whatever I drink then, I do not count because I already got dehydrated.

8:30 am- This is the time I am getting ready for work so I drink half a bottle of water.

11 am- It’s about an hour before lunch I drink the other half. I am now up to four glasses and it isn’t even halfway through the day.

12:30 pm- This is when I go for lunch and before eating, I drink half a bottle of water. Since I am losing weight, this works to my advantage as it will prevent me from eating more than I need to since I already full my belly a bit.

2 pm- I drink another bottle of water and that equals to 2 glasses so now I am at 7 glasses already.

5 pm- Now I am at home, its time to figure out dinner so I drink another glass of water and now I already made eight glasses.
