They want to abolish the Supreme Court

Here’s a quick overview of the results:

53% of Democrats would “abolish the current Supreme Court,” and replace it with “a new, democratically elected Supreme Court”

56% of Democrats believe the Supreme Court is “racist”

67% of Democrats believe the Supreme Court is “sexist”

64% of Democrats favor expanding the Supreme Court to 13 justices

Abolish the Supreme Court? It’s kinda written into the Constitution. Article Three and all that. Abolishing the Supreme Court would require a Constitutional amendment, a rather onerous undertaking not guaranteed to succeed.

And then they want to replace it with a democratically elected Supreme Court? Have any of these respondents been paying attention to the news lately? Are they even remotely aware of how Republicans are trying to rig elections?

And about that racist and sexist thing. Funny thing is, Democrats didn’t see any racism or sexism when the Supreme Court was ruling in favor of stuff like abortions and affirmative action, but when the court rules against things that Democrats favor, all of a sudden the court is racist and sexist and should be abolished.

Seems a tad bit childish to me.

It pains me to say this, but the Republicans, especially Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had the right idea. They didn’t like the decisions coming out of the court, so they changed the composition of the court.

Yes, McConnell cheated by refusing to hold hearings on Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, because it was an election year and then turned around and rammed the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett through weeks before the 2020 election.

But my point is, instead of throwing a temper tantrum and demanding that the court be abolished, the Republicans…
