Sadness and air are intertwined

The air of the present body
is a place where the leaves weep against each other.
I feel my light at once, a little glass house smashed by feathers.
I have been waiting for this all day in the sky, but it is good I hear it now because I need somebody to love me, who will not go away.
Possibly I will have to wait forever.
How many trees can I give away?
I am so sad I must certainly die.
I wish you were here, though you are there.
We are contaminated by our thoughts.
You leave a particle of yourself in everything you touch.
I live in a river.
Today I give you all my words.
If I am alive, it is only because I do not understand this.
If I live with you, the feeling is a solid body burning in the air.
If you love me much more than I love you, then if my hand touches yours for one second, my blood changes and has no name.
If I am good, you are a thousand times better.
If my eyes have never seen you, why do you fill me with a love I have never had?
I could believe that you are only this once and be happy all the way to death.
The flesh is not important.
The feeling is everything.
I am on an island, which was destroyed by the sea but made again from clay by women.

I am wishing I could make a poem so delicately
that all the air would gather and take on its shape.
The air would be all around me, and I could keep it for myself,
in some part of my body. It would help me to think, it would help me to breathe — but this is not enough. I have so many thoughts, even my breath is full of them — and they are in the air too heavy to carry.
